At the piano
How long, and how often
Short and regular beats long and rare — by a wide margin.

Ten minutes on five days will take you further than an hour once a week. Playing an instrument is a physical skill, and physical skills settle between sessions, not during them.
A realistic week
- Aim for four or five short sessions rather than one long one.
- Ten to fifteen minutes is a real session, not a warm-up.
- Finish while it still feels good, not when you are worn out.
A missed day is not a broken habit. The streak here counts days you played, and it forgives you — one day off does not send you back to zero.
Tip: If you only have five minutes, play the hard bar five times slowly. That is worth more than running the whole piece once.
